i've fallen in love. . . What to do

well. . . A friend of ours has had some suprise babies after to females turned out to be one boy and one girl. I went to have a look today, and one is the most adorable baby i have seen, and so much like my lovely tallulah who i lost last year. So after my no more pets decision. . . . Now the thing is, if by any tiny chance i was able to adopt this boy, would i be able to have him living with my boar? Humphrey has always been a bit over friendly with boars i've tried him with in the past. . . The other thought we had was if both boys were neutered would they live with a girl? Or would they fight? And does anyone have any advice generally? If i did try the boys together is there a way past the humping?! X
 
They will fight if you have 2 boys and a girl together. Boars are tricky, some work some don't it's a risk...
 
I can understand your dilemma; you will have to decide whether you can walk away or work out a situation that does justice to ALL your piggies; the new one included.

The one thing that you CANNOT do is put two boars (even neutered ones) with sows; they need to be both VERY laid back and elderly to do that!

You can either try two boars together or have one neutered boy with a girl each in separate cages.

that's what i thought really, but someone i know recommended the idea of the girl, but i think she may have just been very very lucky! Obviously piggy needs come first, but if the two boys didn't get on i could easily have them neutered and living with a girl each, so i have options. It would just be easier if the two boys would be happy together with no surgery involved. I wondered if it might be easier with the new boy being so young?
 
if you are open to them falling out and neutering them both and then getting them girlfriends, then i would go for it! You will not know all is well till the baby boar has got through puberty. I think he could go with your boar as young as 4 weeks which means that there will be little dominance as the baby would be too young and hopefully your older boar with daddy it

the decision is up to you!
 
Depending on your own boar's reaction, bonding baby boars (from 3 weeks onwards) is usually a very good option. The crucial time is obviously puberty, but you know that.
 
well i'm thinking worst case scenario i have to adopt a girl too. . . I'd obviously be gutted. . I've got a lovely run with two sides separated by mesh, so they could have double dates and everything. I do wish they'd invent some kind of guinea contraception injection, would be so much easier than surgery. . . Note to self to invent one. :)
