Last night my neighbours on the left hand side had their shed broken into and loads of stuff taken, my boyfriend's motorbike was also pushed over but locked up so luckily they couldnt steal it.

Ive chained the hutch shut with heavy duty padlocks tonight because if I know anything about theives they were scouting around and will be back tonight and I dont want my pigs to be used as bait animals :(

They could probably cut through the wire if they wanted them that badly but I doubt they would go to the effort.

Wont be sleeping easy tonight :(

yikes, how scary! is there no way you can bring them in for the night?

Oh no, that's really scary! I really hope they won't go to the effort to try and get your piggies :(

Can they be brought in? :)

Thankfully my backs are secure, I have a 7 foot fence right round the garden. The only way in is down a passageway between mine and next door. The passage has a locked door either end. The animals are in a shed with a lock and a padlock. ;)

it makes me soooo mad that people are this way. I don't think I would sleep all that good for a while if that happened to me.

We have 6 foot fences around the garden so it would be hard to jump them. My neighbours are on the end house so their garden backs onto the street.

I cant bring the pigs in because we have absolutely no where to put them (i live with my parents ) and we have three dogs who I wouldnt trust with the pigs.

They should be alright, its easier to sell power tools than it is guinea pigs and my mums sheepdog barks at the littlest sound so she should wake us up if she hears anything, along with the motion sensor floor light.

I feel sorry for my neighbours :(

Stevenage isn't too far from me.

Glad nothing happened to you. It was probably just some stupid kids thinking halloween is a good chance to steal things as many people would be out.

*update* pigs were fine and nobody else was broke into on our street thank god!
That's good to hear....fewww glad your piggies are ok and they didn't get your BF motorbike. Sad to here about you neighbour I hope they were insured. When I was child I remember rabbits being attached in their hutches and dogs being poisoned in their gardens....awful. There are some very sick people out there :(

There's been a spate of burglaries in my area too and my friends were one of the unlucky ones even with a large scary dog and a house alarm system. For the first time ever I'm glad I live in a flat. However I have sleepless nights most nights as I rent a council garage half a mike away in a rough part of town and have all the stuff from my late mums house stored there as I have no where else to keep it and garages are being targeted un my area too. I blame storage wars glamorising peoples possessions, and showing how easy locks are to cut etc
