I was in Pets at Home, Rugby when a family dashed in holding a very poorly rabbit. They had bought it from there on Monday. I was just about to be served as they arrived. I was asked if I minded waiting (of course I didn't). I have to say I was impressed with the way they were immediately on the phone and arranging to get the rabbit to the vet as soon as possible.

I have to say the staff at this store seem very caring. :)

That is very good to hear O0
Hope the poor bunny makes it :-\

have you rang to find out how he is?

I was only there about half hour ago. The shop closes at 8. I will pop in tomorrow and ask how he is. I have to say I was expecting them to say it wasn't their problem as the bunny had been bought on Monday but there was none of that. They just rushed to phone the vet.

To my knowledge If there is a problem with an animal within a week of purchasing it they take full responsibility, it is in their sales agreement. However, the staff didn't have to be so helpful, they sound very good and caring. When I took my guinea back to my local store they said 'well do you want to swap it for another one', I just stood there for about five minutes staring at them in disbelief. I hope he is O.K., wish my store was like this one. O0

Have you found anything out about the bunny yet? :'( Is it ok?

It restored a little faith when you hear stories like this! I must admit the one that has been open for about 6 weeks near me seems ok. All the pigs & buns appear to be well looked after & quality looking animals. I had to sit on my hands a couple of days ago because there was a black tan rex. Was nice & chunky too. The girls there were interested & polite. THe only person I have seen there who ever seems to need the sack is an older woman who I recognise from the other store in Nottingham.

I do hope this bun is ok

That's so sad. R.I.P. little one. Did you find out what was wrong with her/ him? :'(

The girl I spoke to this morning hadn't been there when they brought the bunny in yesterday. She knew he hadn't made it but wasn't sure what had been wrong with him. I will look out for the girl who was there last night when I next go in.

What a shame, poor bunny. RIP darling xx

Atleast they tried and the staff were caring enough to get it to the vet.

My little Ralfie was given to me by the staff at Pets at Home cos he was regarded as a special piggy cos he had had an operation to remove an abscess from under his chin. They would only let him go to a special home so they asked me if I could have him. Again it was good to see that they had got him the treatment he needed. :)

The staff at the Rugby store do seem very caring and interested in the animals. O0

That's great, at my local store (Rotherham Parkgate) the staff seem uncaring and not interested in the animals at all, not sure if that's the case but that's how it appears to be. :-\
