crying in Trebaron!
I know you all say get a guinea pig from a rescue but this guinea pig is adorable!
We went tonight to collect her, but found out she was pregnant. Me being me said we would take her and look after during her pregnancy, but my brother said no as I've never done it before so I bursted into tears!
I know now that he was right, what if there was diffucultities during the birth so they have reserved her for me for when she has the babies, hope they will let me take the female babies aswell!
The woman said she's gunna ring me and tell me how she's doing!
I felt stupid crying but I get emotional easy!

Hope they get on well and that you get to take her home with some babies !

I get what you mean - some of them really tug at your soul.

She even said I could go in and see her and handle her, but I would get to emotional leaving her
Wish I could have taken a picture now to show you all

@) oh no dont start me off again. I went into p @ h last weekend, looking for a specific fish. of course I looked in the adoption section..:{ there was a piggie asleep, I spoke to him/her and he/she looked at me. There was no info. on the cage and I couldnt see anyone, so I came out with a heavy heart, and I have been worrying ever since....

Awwww! ):
I would adopt all of them if I could and give them a forever home

they are amazing. I didn't think I'd ever feel the way about them that I do about my bunnies but after just a couple of months, I am totally smitten by everything the piggies do x)

He was all i thought about for days, and i wish i'd taken a picture too as i was constantly trying to describe him to people haha,
The worse part for me was the day i wen't to get Marmite his cage in Pets At Home was empty and i found out he'd been adopted the day before in the morning put with 2 boys and then brought back in the evening as they didn't get on obviously. I had to wait extra time as he had to go back to isolation for a few days and so it was a case of calling up every morning to see how he was getting on,
Can't explain how happy i was to see the woman carry him out from the back and see his little face looking around all confused and scared!

xx>>> Now i have my piggy, so i hope you have a happy ending too ! xoxo

Awww :)
I have to wait a couple of months until I can have her but I'm counting down the days already!
She's only 4 months and pregnant the poor thing but I'm glad she's got a forever home with me soon

Hopefully she has all girly babies so you can take them all home as a family ! I'm sure everyday will feel a billion times longer than it actually is !

Please make sure that any male babies born are seperated at 3 weeks old (any later than this and the female you take home might be pregnant again. This pregnancy would be even more risky than the previous one because it would be back to back!)

Also, I would be very wary of anyone who was willing to give you a pregnant guinea pig.

Okay!
I wanted to take her like but she said it would be better to keep her there so they can pay for vet bills and stuff!

Sorry if it seemed cross, I just wanted you to be armed with the info, because loads of places dont seperate early enough and you were talking about having her after the babies are born. :) Its good that they wouldnt rehome her untill shes had the babies safely :)

I understand what you mean! :)
She said she should have them in 2 weeks but she will have to stay with the babies won't she?
She thinks that it's her brother that got her pregnant so maybe abnormalities there.

She will need to stay with the babbies for 3 weeks, but at 3 weeks baby boys need to be seperated. Please make sure you ask what age they were seperated, as if its after 3 weeks she very well might be pregnant again. However lots of people believe its fine to keep them together untill 4 weeks. They are wrong. :(

I will ring her up and tell her to take the males away when they are 3 weeks!
So the females will stay with her then?

The females can stay basically forever, babies shouldnt be rehomed untill 6 weeks at weighing atleast 400g, so often in a rescue the baby girls would stay with mommy and mommy would be rehomed with one of her daughter, or alternativly the babies would go off together, and then mummy is rehomed somewhere else :)

Do you have a friend for the mommy/a back up plan if she doesnt like her new friend. :)

I was going to adopt the female babies aswell and leave them with her, will this be okay?
I have Lottie but she doesn't seem to get on with anyone!

As long as you have the space for them theres not reason not too. Has lottie been sow dating at a rescue?

Okay, thank you!
Nope, but I have tried her in with my other two sows but she doesn't get on, she's like being on her own, very spoilt she is!
Has the whole of downstairs to run around haha

Personally, I dont believe there are many, if any guinea pigs that like to be alone. There is usually an answer, whether its the right female friend of a neutered boar. :)

She would rather be in human company! :)

i'm sure she's worth waiting for, and you're a piggy mummy worth waiting for too x

I forgot she hasn't got a name so has anyone got any name suggestions for her please!? :)
