I've Seen It All...!

So in my excitement and while searching for my bits and pieces, pricing items up etc. for my C&C cage I decided I'd make a list of everything else I would need for when I eventually get my piggies... its a month or two away before I'll be ready but I'm excited and a bit like a kid at Xmas at the moment (I already have a daily routine sketched out and my cage areas planned).
Anyway - I cant believe all the gimmicky items you can get now, even in the last couple of years since I was a piggy owner its amazing - obviously a lot of them I must have, all the cozy items and hidey holes etc of course. But the one thing that made me say "what the actual " out loud was the harness and lead... I mean come on! lets take a timid prey animal... take it out into an open area and by all accounts strap it in one place with no where to run - you cant make this up! WHY?!

There are lots of things to buy them, it is so fun.

It's a shame that harnesses and leads are sold as they are so dangerous for piggies, but unfortunately there is no regulation out there in the pet industry and very little education for new owners too.

Enjoy getting all your items together, we are forever buying our piggies new cosies and tunnels from people on here, there are some great beds and snuggle sacks out there Glad you are looking forward to getting piggies

Yes leads are terrible but at least they stopped marketing giant hamster balls at guineas!

Ooh I hate those leads. I watched a film recently something with Walter Matheau (sp) about Grumpy Old Men. They were walking down the road with a guinea pig on a lead like a dog!

Anyway, just wanted to say welcome to the guinea world! And by the way you will spend a fortune, buy the very best of everything, what more could they possibly want? They will ignore it all and the two things they will like most in the whole wide world will be a paper bag and a cardboard toilet roll...LOL
