I am a bit confused by ivermectin. I am looking to start treating my girls as a prevention measure but there are a few different brands. I have been looking at 2 different ones

Are these the same thing? Is one better than the other?

The xeno has a high active ingredient dose and is usually higher recomended by vets. However you must make sure that if you ever take them to the vet you have written down any preventative treatment you have given, the date and brand and dose etc. :)

I would buy Easimec it's from Hyperdrug - about £20, one bottle will treat all your pigs. It's licensed for Guinea pigs.

I havent got my pigs yet but I was going to treat them with the baephar spot on when I got them and then 4 weeks later again as a just in case measure , is the does in this too low?

I wouldn't treat new pigs especially babies unless showing sign of mites and advised by a vet, I have never used that brand and to be honest I don't treat routinely, I only treat when they have mites.

I treat monthly with xeno 200 as a preventative because I have so many piggies an outbreak of anything would be a bit disatrous!
