I was a bad mummy i was feeding piggies and just about to shut door whn Petal ran forward and yelled, her foot got jammed:( it is red, a little swollen, you cna see a teeny bit of blood but its not beeding and she is keeping it off the ground asmuch as possible8...

I feel awful should i bathe it and apply some sudacream maybe? Do you think it would help?/
 
Aww accidents happen honey! In my opinion i think you should leave her foot and just keep and eye on it it would probably hurt her more if you were to bath it etc. Just make sure it looks ok and maybe clean it tomorrow. I would clean it today though if there is and open wound.
 
I would leave well alone if it looks otherwise healthy. If you see dirt collecting on or around the wound, I would say to use cool boiled water and a few cotton wool pads to wipe away any visible dirt or blood. I would pass on the cream as it will probably encourage bits of food etc to stick to the foot.
 
Thankyou gla i asked here before headingof to put cream on:) it loos clean just a bit sore nd swollen now:(

Petal s ar to excited at veggie times out of the 6 she goes mad nd doesn't exactly look where shes goingrolleyes
 
I've heard people use corn plasters to cover feet if there are cuts. maybe you could get a big one and cover it? what does anyone think?
 
cant see why not really. Just make sure you keep the wound clean.

Mistakes happen chicken, its not your fault!
 
Apparently corn plasters just come off by themselves.

I agree with the others, it definately isn't anyones' fault!
 
As has been said above, just make sure that the wound is clean and free from infection.

Apparently the spray-on Salvon is better than the cream as it doesn't make things stick to it. But hopefully everything will be ok.

With the best will in the world ... these things happen so don't blame yourself.
 
If there is no cut and skin has no breaks I would leave it alone. I wouldn't use sudacream as your piggie can lick it off and it would probably be poisonous to her. It's probably bruised so she may keep it up for a few days. It can take a while to get better though. Yes Goldie, the spray-on savlon is very good. I would only use it if the skin was broken.
 
Thank everyone the skin hasn't been broken just swollen and red, so i'll keep t clean and free form infection :)
Still with a poorly foot petal stll managed tbe the firs at the veg bowl:(|)
