We are so excited in our house as we are hoping to rehome this little guy when we get back from our hols at the end of the month. What do you think? http://www.guineapigrehome.org.uk/gp/moreinfo.asp?GpigID=2008. He is apparently an Alpaca and is only a youngster. We have had Shelties in the past but this little chap will be our first long coated fuzzy! :smitten: :smitten:

We have decided to try to put all our 6 girlies in together with this little fella in the hope that he will sort them all out - he should have fun trying! He is going to be my daughters piggy, but I think we have all fallen in love with him and we've only seen his picture! He is currently called "Jaz" which I think Rachael is happy to keep, but we'll see. Jackie and Angela at GBH Rescue have reserved him for us and we are hoping to collect him sometime after the 3rd August - can't wait.

With all the trouble we have had/are having with poor little Tetley it is good to have something nice to look forward to. :)

:D :D AHHHH he looks like a little multi coloured ball of cotton wall! ;D ;D

Caviesgalore - Jaz is lovely, I am really pleased for you that you will soon be adopting another piggy :smitten: You managed to talk your husband round then? ;) You will have to let me know what your visit to Jackie and Angela is like, as they seem to have a lot of lovely pigs which I have been very tempted by.

What a little fluffy bundle awwww :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Thanks all. He does look a little darling, keeping everything crossed that the adoption goes through ok.

Yes Emily I managed to work on hubby - didn't really have a leg to stand on because he suggested our younger daughter got a hammie for her birthday!

I agree with you totally that GBH have some lovely piggies, will let you know what it's like! I had a couple of long chats with Angela at the weekend and she seemed really nice. Think I am going to have to be very strong willed when we go, otherwise I might end up bringing a couple more home!

Now all I've got to do before we go away at the end of the month is to source a very large hutch for them all. I have been looking on ebay and went up to my local garden centre today as they also stock hutches. They had a very sturdy 6' long x 2' wide hutch for sale but it was around £150 :(. Another alternative was a 4' long x 2' wide two storey hutch but that was about £139. All the hutches on ebay (new) and the internet generally tend to only be around 16" or 18" wide which I don't think will be wide enough for 7 piggies. Anyone got any good contacts or know of any good/reasonably priced hutch stockists?

£150 for a hutch big enough for 7 piggies is actually veeery reasonable! :)

He's a cutie! Alternatively you could buy 2 two tier hutches, place them side by side, Join them together by cutting a hole from them to walk through. I think i remember seeing some 3ft two tier hutches on ebay for around £75 each. Unfortunalty it is going to cost around £150 or more to get a hutch big enough to acommodate 7 piggies. Good luck with your search.

:smitten: He is gorgeous...what a lovey little ball of lovliness! :smitten:
