So I just got paid this morning, and I've already spent about half my spending money on Jedward.

She's got a new play pen coming, with a shade for outdoor use, a chew-toy vegetable mobile to hang in her cage, some individual chew toy veggies for playing with in the pen, a pigloo, a tiny bed cozy, a warren to run through, a new type of bedding that should be nicer than wood chips, some timothy hay and last but by NO MEANS least, I'm ordering her new, 3 storied cage the very MOMENT it comes back into stock on Zooplus and then she'll be ALL SET to get a playmate! :<>

She is lucky. But I'm not sure she likes me yet, so maybe the spoiling will help a bit. lol I'm gonna be skint by the end of the week.

Jeddy is a very lucky piggie to have such a nice owner who treats her with new things! :)

I wish she saw it that way. lol She's a bit scared of me where I haven't got the play pen yet and have to practically jump on her to stop her going under or in between things I can't reach her from (meaning cats could get to her) and stop her from going near wires. @)

How long have you had her for now? It takes time for them to gain your trust.

It'll be four weeks this Sunday. And I understand that, I just don't think me 'chasing' after her every 5 minutes is helping. lol So I've just been trying to give her more cuddles before and after playtime. :...

I'm a bit like that with my girls and I've had them for almost 18 months! she will appreciate the cuddles before and after playtime I'm sure :)
You could maybe try and tempt her away from the areas you don't want her to be with some yummy herbs?

I've been trying but she turns her nose up. lol I might try dandelion leaves though, she loved that!

I'm sure things will be easier when her playpen comes :) She's not even tempted by herbs? I thought all piggies liked herbs! :)) My girls love dandelion leaves too :)

I haven't bought any herbs for her yet (but the veg I tried to bribe her with didn't work) because I'm still trying to get her to enjoy at least one type of fruit. She's trying strawberries tonight! I'm going to buy some herbs to grow though, so I have a constant supply without having to worry about them going yucky.

None of my family use herbs and she can't eat a whole packet on her own before they go bleghky! XD

I have tried growing herbs both this year and last year. Last year they grew very well but this year it was just too hot for them and they all wilted before we got to use them.
I usually only buy herbs when they are reduced in the supermarket, got a mixed pack of parsley and basil for 10p in Asda last night!
My girls don't like strawberries but they do like apples, banana, blueberries and melon. I hope the strawberry tasting goes well and Jeddy likes it! :)

Jeddy turned her nose up at apple but she had a nibble on some kiwi. It's just a matter of exploring what she might like at the moment. lol

We have an Asda opening about 15 mins walk from my house soon, so I think it'll probably be easier for me to get some nice cheap freshies for her! :))

I buy alot of reduced veg and herbs for my girls and its suprising how long it actually lasts without going off after the sell by date. I have had things last more than a week more, saves quite a bit of money shopping that way!
Can't remember if my girls liked kiwi or not? its funny cos my girls don't like anything very wet with seeds in like tomatoes, strawberries etc! :)

My piggies hated bananas lol! Fruit is really only a special treat anyway, as too much can give them sore mouths. How about a little bit of melon or apple, or the odd grape? Mine always enjoyed those. :)

aww that's fantastic! i remember your thread about your cage being small etc so thats brilliant news! I've just ordered my new cage from zooplus too! I was prepared to pay about £80, saw it in PAH for £70 then got it on zooplus for £44.99, bonus! Its a good site isn't it?

I'm very excited for you, you'll have to post pics of the new set up! My piggies love grapes, I give them very occaisonally because of the sugar but its a nice refeshing treat on a warm day. I you go to guinealinks.com it gives you an index of whats good for them too, basically i try and give them a diet high in vitamin C cos they need it and low calcium because too much calcium can cause bladder stones and lost one of my piggies to a bladder stone, not a nice experience.

Have fun!

Bargain!

I will definitely post pictures.

I'm just a bit upset at the moment... She keeps biting me and I don't know what to do. 8...

Oooh, I might have a look at the herbs next time I go shopping then.

There could be a number of reasons why she's biting, first I would check her for mites, if she has any tiny scabs this is a giveaway but mites make their skin all sensitive and she won't want to be held. Another thought is if you use and scented handwash, bodylotion or perfume, guineapigs noses are quite sensitive. She may just prefer to sit with * as opposed to on you if that makes sense. For example how about setting her down on your bed and letting her crawl around you? She may feel less trapped or threatened. Hopefully she'll grow out if it but don't give up, perservere with regular handling and keep talking to her so she knows your voice too xx

She's fine before playtime, just sitting on me. It's after playtime she starts biting.

It's not to pee, she seems to nuzzle just before she pees, it could be that she's tired although she still runs around a lot if I put her back to bed. Maybe she wants to keep playing? I dunno. lol I'm just keeping my fingers crossed it'll get better when she has her playpen. She doesn't draw blood but my fingers are rather sore.

Now I have two sore hands. (My right still has the burn and splinter and she seems to prefer my left! lol)

Nothing's been dispatched yet but I'll make sure you all know when it gets delivered. lmao

Hmm not sure, if shes ok on your lap i guess she cant hate you. Maybe its something she will grow out of? I had a guinea pig called Charles (such a darling) but he didnt know his own jaw strength! He would do the little taste nip thing like hmm you smell good I'm just gonna check if your edible but he would do it really hard lol

Well, we have progress, she hasn't bitten me so far tonight, she did get behind the sofa though.

I thought my heart was going to pop...
