So tonight we went to the vet.

First up, the vet said Jemima is a very healthy guinea pig. She said because Jemima is so healthy I basically had two choices... to head back home and monitor the situation and return if there was any change. Or, let them do a biopsy to rule out/confirm several possibilities on the spot.

After much deliberating, I agreed.

Unfortunately there was no fluid in the lump, so not a cyst or abscess.

Again she gave me the option of heading home and monitoring.

But I've decided to have the biopsy sent to the lab.

The vet seemed very positive about dealing with the results, whatever they are. But I have this sinking feeling.

I'm very sad. Jemima is feeling very sorry for herself and is sleeping next to me.

Heartbroken really.

I hope she will be ok. Since she is very healthy then she has a good chance of getting through things :) Sending healing vibes! And hugs for you too!

@TheAurora huge hugs to you. I hope the results will be back soon and you will know what you are dealing with. (It could be a simple benign fibroma or similar. Please don't torment yourself. We are here to support you if you need us x

Try not to worry and like @VickiA has said at least when you get the results back the vet will know what they are dealing with. It is also a good sign that the vet has said she appears to be a healthy piggy.

Fingers crossed and sending *hugs* to you both.

Huge hugs to you x

Fingers crossed on the lump. Cookie had a tumour remove from her neck when she was 3 it never came back. Sending lots of love to you and Miss Fluffybottom x x

Sent you a pm x

Thanks everyone. My heart is broken in a million pieces. But whatever happens I wouldn't change the last year I've had with her. She's brought a piece of wonderful into my life. Gawd I'm crying again x

Oh hun, Sometimes you need to have a good cry for the worst before being able to let the hope for the positive in, if that makes sense? It could turn out to be benign. Fingers firmly crossed for Jemima... x
