Jennifer has been scratching a lot recently and now I've noticed some of her fur coming out...I went on http://www.gorgeousguineas.com/photogallery.html and it matches the picture of Mange Mites 8...
I'm going to get her treatment asap and the others incase they have also got it despite not yet fully showing the signs

Where can I get Xeno 50 or Xeno 450?

Is Ivomec only available as an injection?

And I was wondering how do guineas get mites?

Kira xx

Best get them from a vet.

Mange mites have a tendency to pop up when a piggy's immune system is stressed, so it can be very likely.

My best wishes to poor Jenny!

She'll need the one for mini pigs right? Which one is that?

Poor little Jennifer - hope she's better from this one soon.

poor minipig she does get a rough ride so far, best wishes and healing wheeks for her

I got recommenced an
Anti-Parasite Spot On for Rabbits and Guinea Pigs by Beaphar
will this do the same job or should I definitely stick with the Xeno's?

Oh Kira and little teeny Jennifer i'm so sorry to hear this latest setback :(mallethead
sending loads of healing wheeeeeeeeeeeks and loves from us all xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>

I have used the Beaphar with success, though I believe my youngest pig was 6 months when I used it. I would prefer to use the Xeno 50, given Jennifer is still so small.

Thanks a lot, I'll use the Xeno 50 to be safe

Despite everything Jennifer is still popcorning and is being as loving as ever, she's such a little fighter and nothing can seem to bring her down :) Hopefully this will be the last medical thread I make about her!
