So today we weighed the piggies as usual and poor Jezzy has lost over 60g in 2 weeks, she's dipped under 1kg! She had a full vet check less than 2 weeks ago and weighed 1060g, last week she weighed 1045g, today 993g.
She's eating fine, and she has her dinner on the castle house roof so no pig can steal it, but she is thin- no wonder I got her mixed up with Blodwen from behind, Blod is a chunky 1030g today- Blod is heavier than Jezzy!
Should we take her back to the vets? Or wait a couple of weeks and put porridge oats in her breakfast and see if she bounces back?

I think if it was any other pig I wouldnt worry so much, but she's my precious floofy girl... I'll weigh her daily and give her an extra snack when we get her out to put vaseline on her feet. Thinking about it she's been more active since we started treating her slightly sore feet so maybe she's just exercising more... and reviewing the piggy weights I wonder if some sneaky food thievery has gone on when I'm not watching because Piggle has gained 100g in the same 2 weeks!

If she is eating well and is happy I would switch to daily weighing and just keep an eye on her. x

I would weigh her daily at the same time in the day (to even out the daily weight swing of ca. 30-40g as much as possible) and see a vet again if the gradual downturn continues over the weekend/week.

Right now it is just in the mild stage where you are going on alert and observation if nothing is jumping out at you.

Hope she’s ok, I would weigh her daily too. Do you think she’s been unsettled by Tallulah?

She may be unsettled by Tallulah, she's a very sensitive floof! But so far I havent seen her noticing Tallulah much, and Tallulah has gained 10g and her attack victim big pig Clover has gained 30g this week so I'm not sure... but Jezzy floof does get unsettled easily by new things, even a new fleecy pee pad to sit on makes her a bit anxious- she didnt like the one with moon and stars design and hid from it :)

Aw, hope she’s ok.
They are funny aren’t they. I made Bill another tunnel out of some new anti pill fleece and he won’t go in it, he loves his old mewed up one, but looks at the new one as if it’s a monster!

Jezzy floof is 1029g at todays weigh in :)

Her feet arent any worse but arent much better with vaseline so we started the gorgeous guineas perfect paws ointment today, it rubs in very nicely and smells much better than vaseline!

She’s just such a cutie. My Ellen used to weigh 1180g but she gradually lossed 180g within a year which I was told could be due to her age (she’s nearly 4) and her diet. When she reached 995g I became very worried and started weighing her daily for about a week where her weight gradually started to climb. She now hovers between 1000g and 1060g and has been steady for the last couple of months

I think the "under 1kg" reading is always a shock for a big pig! I'm glad she's regained a bit, Jezzy is only supposed to be about 2 and a half, 3 years old but when she loses weight she feels like a bony old lady and I worry she's older that we thought... I love my floof so much, she's our friendliest piggy, I do fuss over her a lot!

Ellen feels boney too when she loses weight but I think that’s the same for any pig whatever the age

What a lovely girl despite the wee pants.:love::love:

She's currently sleeping face down in the toilet tray in protest because I changed her damp smelly pee pad for a clean one after I cleaned and moisturised her feet :) she much prefers sitting in pee and will do anything to avoid sitting in a clean dry place!

Hope beautiful floof Jezzy doesn’t worry you by losing weight again.
I added a handful of oats to the food bowl when Priscilla lost weight with a tummy upset. All 3 loved the oats.
Hope the new salve helps her feet
