Hi
This may be a silly question but I can’t find the answer. How do I administer Johnson’s 4Joints liquid. Do I mix it with water or just the 0.4ml of the liquid straight from the bottle?

Thank you in advence!

Hi

You just syringe the weight adjusted amount of the 4joints for dogs liquid (UK only) drawn straight from the bottle once a day.

0.4 ml is the amount for a 1 kilo piggy, so for other weights you adjust the amount accordingly.
As a rough guide:
750g = 0.3 ml
875g = 0.35 ml
1000g = 0.4 ml
1125g = 0.45 ml
1250g = 0.5 ml

If your piggy doesn't like a particular medication, it is easier to get a small amount of the hated undiluted medicine into the mouth in one fell swoop, then follow up by water to wash away the bad taste and follow up with a treat (that because of the water won't hold any bad flavour).
If you have a number of meds to give, start with the favourite, then follow up with the worst and work your way up to finish with the second best liked. ;)

I hope that this helps you? Thankfully, in my own experience 4joints tends to go down well with most piggies.

Hi,

Thank you for the quick response. Both piggies are nearer 1.2g! We’ve tried feliway capsules and piggy parcels but they haven’t gone down well. I’m going to try Johnson 4Joints to see if we get better results. It smells very sweet and they love metacam so I’m hopeful. As this is going to be a long term medication I want it to go down easy!
