I was cuddling both the piggies on the bed, when all of a sudden something completely freaked them out. Chika ran and hid in my arm but Flick decided to just dart straight off the bed. She landed on the foor, looked up at me a bit shocked but then realised she was free to run under the bed. She seemed happy running around, and exploring under the bed as i scrambled too the floor trying to catch her. It all happened so fast but Flicka appeared to land on her feet, She acting normal, and seems fine. Does not seem to be in pain.

Should i take her to the vets to get checked out? I read that Piggies can jump from a fair height and be fine. The bed height is about 21 inches

I would only take her to the vet if there are signs of problems. It sounds like she is fine!

Some piggies do instantly jump if something surprises them, no matter what the height! Thankfully, it does sound like she is okay. Just keep an eye on her for any signs of limping or discomfort.

I have to sit on the floor with my Frankie and he always tries to jump straight out of my arms whenever lifted out of the cage!

Sometimes impact can cause winding and a broken limb or so.. but if she's not limping or pretending she's not in pain (you'll know cos she'll be uninterested in popcorning! haha) then you might have had a lucky one!

What an appropriate name, Flick :) Cuute!

ohhh bless!
Sounds like she's not too bothered! Might be wise to just check her teeth are ok, one of mine took a leap of faith ages ago & bit her lip, so a bit bloody, but her teeth & jaw were luckily unaffected. i weighed mine too, just in case there was a drop in weight afterwards to suggest dental problems after her fall.

Think i was more traumatised than her!

As Jerrybelly said "keep an eye on her for limping & discomfort" or any sudden changes in behavior. Hope shes ok.

xx
