Pigs are naturally frightened they are prey animals. Just go easy, speak to them gently, don't make any sudden noise or movement, they will gain your trust. It does take a lot of patience.
Ah bless you! I have a little sow and she is now 6 months, I've had her since August and its only this past week she has started trusting me more, she still won't take food from me but she doesn't hide up as much.
Some are more nervous than others (just like us I suppose lol). 3 of our piggies are just over a year old and are only just starting to stand still while you pick them up, instead of running to hide :, Molly is 2.5 years and very chilled but still won't be stroked unless you are holding her. They are prey animals, so constantly on the watch, bless them . . . yours sound very normal :smitten: :smitten:
