We took Rocky to see Kristina Hunter of Cheshire Pet Holmes Chapel for consultation regarding his cheilitis and his eyes (he has conjunctivitis). His eyes are inflamed and was prescribed some eye drops, and also an F10 cream for the cheilitis. Hopefully both problems get sorted.

Anyway, we just found out that Kristina is moving to Exeter for training to be a specialist vet for rodents (she said 4 years!) and her last day will be on 24th December. So for those who go to Cheshire Pet and prefers Kristina, just a heads up. She said the one replacing her is named Christian, who she said is a very good exotics vet as well and very knowledgeable with guinea pigs too.

Yes, we saw Kris on Tuesday and she told us the news then. I’m sure there are a great number of us who will miss her very much. Her last day is Xmas Eve.
@sport_billy the new vet Christian won’t arrive until end of January (and just to confuse matters there is another lovely vet at the practice also called Christian!) so best not update the vet locator just yet.

Thank you. His eyes are improving already after just 2 days of treatment. It wasn't as red as before (considering he has pink/red eyes). His cheilitis would hopefully improve in the next few days. Kristina said to continue using the F10 cream until it clears up.

Hey guys, thought I'd comment as I also saw Kristina and was heartbroken when she left. I took my 4 degus to see Cristian a couple weeks back and he was very thorough. He has a lot of experience worldwide. My oldest degu is 4 whilst my 3 youngest are just 10 weeks old. It is extremely difficult to find a vet for degus, some experienced vets don't even know what they are. We travel upto 45 minutes to go to Cheshire pet. I'm happy with Cristian, hopefully you guys are too.
