I've been doing my one of my assignments on rabbits at the college i'm based at and i've been looking into their diet charts/food etc. so naturally i had a sneak peak at the piggie diets.
Lo-and-behold there was no veg on it ?/ just nuggets and hay. I asked them why and apparently they're doing a trial for Burgess of complete nuggets so they don't require any veg. I'm quite shocked the college aren't even sneaking veg in but anyway just in case it interests any of you
The piggies and rabbits seem to completely love it too - all gone within 10 minutes :O

Even if there were a completely complete food nothing beats seeing piggies excited over getting veggies! lol

Many breeders and shops won't feed veg. Poor piggies... They may be healthy enough, but seeing how happy piggies are about fresh food, they are losing out on one of the main joys in life and are certainly not leading an enriched life! :((

That's one reason i'm glad they're doing it, however unfortuantly it may encourage owners to do it as it will be cheaper and easier for them.

I can see there would be a market for it, non interested owners and breeders. I mean cutting up 100 cups of veg a day would be a challenge, and for some people who just have guineas shoved in a hutch chopping 2 cups is hard especially for a family where they dont eat veg at all. So if it leads to healthier pigs its great.
