Junior Guinea Pig
So I’ve been wanting to convert a shed into a piggy palace for my gang for years and years and this year I set the wheels in motion in the beginning of January. Recruited my carpenter friend (we met when I fostered his guinea pigs for him when he was no longer able to keep them) to create my vision inside and the builder son of one of my clients. I ordered everything in for the base, anticipating the shed would be going up a couple days after.
It’s all been ground to a halt for weeks now. The base is part done (the builder threw his back out, can’t be helped, and as someone who also suffers from back pain I am entirely sympathetic) but since then the awful weather has prevented him from finishing it (he works as well so appreciative that my little project has to come second but the garden looks awful at the moment!)
The brand new, built from scratch shed is in pieces round the side of the house, getting battered by the storms and constant rain. I could be painting it but obviously can’t even do that right now!
It’s so frustrating as we should have been well onto insulating and planning the layout of the inside now.
Sorry I just needed to rant.
On the plus side I’ve been picking up bits for it and bought this planter I grew herbs in and got talking to the guy who made it - he’s offered to build me a purpose built aviary-style walk in run to add to the shed for the piglets. I’m going to set the planter up quite high in there so the pigs can’t feast on it so easily as Nova is doing here

Fingers crossed the ball starts rolling again soon. But at least I can put any updates on this thread now!
