Just taken the two littluns for their check up with Nicola at Putlands - a vet recommended by Sandra (Caviesgalore)..

I just wanted to say thank you for recommending as she was fabulous! she knew so much about cavys and was brilliant - the price was great too!

All the piggies are fine, now on the sofa on their blankees....little devils!

It is one less worry when you find a great piggy vet! glad they are doing well :)

Oh, Nicola is fantastic, isn't she? She's our main vet too now, she's so enthusiastic and clearly loves them to bits - Sandra pointed us in her direction too!

Glad to hear the boys check up went well and that you loved Nicola too!:))

It's always a worry recommending someone, but she is absolutely fantastic - a vet who hasn't lost that personal touch and obvious love of animals, particularly all things small and furry! Unfortunately she is only going to be with us for a couple more months then she is off on maternity leave (great news for her, not so good for us:() )so I'm keeping everything crossed that my lot behave for the rest of the year! Hopefully, all being well, she will be back next year.

I have seen Claire (also at Putlands) with a sick bunny and she was lovely too, and a new client of mine has just said how fantastic she was with her buns yesterday. She took them in for a routine MOT and vaccination and Claire let them hop around the consulting room to "chill out" after having been shut in their carrier, she then proceeded to sit on the floor with them on her lap whilst she jabbed them! More cuddles followed before they headed home, so hopefully we have someone else to see in Nicola's enforced absence!

Thank you so much Sandra! I cant believe we are losing her! i hope she comes back after maternity leave! i will have to remember about Claire, just in case I need to go there again, fingers crossed though I wont!

I am so pleased to have found a vets that actually care for the animals and not the money!

I'm hopeful that as long as she can negotiate the right terms with her boss she will return to work. She already has one daughter approaching two, so fingers crossed she will be back!:) I've already told her in no uncertain terms that she ISN'T allowed to leave!

A vet allergic to guinea pigs! I presume that means she doesn't treat them? In all seriousness I'm not sure Julie, I will ask next time I'm in.
