well a few years ago I had one guinea pig a boy then I go two girls, then I thought ut would be nice to let them have babies, 13 guinea pigs and 9 years later the last one passed away. thats was 8 years ago and we said no more UNTIL along came Billy and Bobby fine two boys no hassle then a parent at work wanted her two girls rehomed "Ok we have the room why not so Molly and Milly came home with me seperate cages as the girls were to old for accidents to happen. so we increased to four then my boss wanted new homes for her two boys emm wonder where they ended up? so we welcomed Henry and Harry to the gang. my boys are all lovely but sadly didnt like living together so they all live alone.

Your piggies are gorgeous and well done for giving them a home :) However, this is a rescue friendly forum so we do not talk about breeding on here :)

It's great that you've been able to provide a home for your latest additions. You have a good looking gang there. :)

yes I was joking about that my boys would never be so rude! lol has anyone had their boys done? the vet said if I had my done they may be ok to reintroduce them back together but I am not so sure

You have a lovely collection of unwanted piggies - good on you for taking them all on!

Neutering only removes the ability to procreate, but not the production of testosterone. It won't make your boys get on with each other - that is dependent on the right mix of characters.

See how your two underboys are getting on by having them next to each other for some weeks - slowly may do. If that is successful, you could consider having the two dominant boars neutered and pair each with one of your girls after a six week safety wait. Cross gender pairs are usually very stable and loving.

Make sure that you find a good and experienced vet for neutering; it will amke a big difference on their chances of having a successful op and recovery.

thankyou I love them all dearly thanks for the advise on having them done but I think I would rather not put any of them through that and they are happy on their own they all live in the sun room and chat to eachother ALL DAY! isnt it funny how guinea pigs can tell the time every night at 8.30 we get a chorus of whistles and cage biting until the salad arrives for them to munch on
