After losing Bingley we have been lucky enough to get a very handsome boy, called Alberto, from Blue Cross. He is still quite little, but very feisty.

We have just got to the 6 week mark since his neutering so we have introduced him and Valentina today. She is about twice his size and pretty grumpy (she has been through quite a few bereavements)

The little boy went ballistic - he was running around, popcorning and trying to play the nose in the bum game. He was even doing the bum wiggle which was very cute given that he is so little.Valentina wasn't having any of it. There was some growling, and big nose offs which I think Valentina might have won. Then he went to sleep and she hid. Now they are both eating but separately.

Does this sound ok?

Bless him, all sounds okay so far. Have you read the behaviour and bonding guides, I found them very helpful. I echo the photo request.

Sounds OK to me. Alberto is just showing off to Valentina that's all. He's saying "Look what a big hero I am! I can zoomie, popcorn and sexy bum wiggle too!" Valentina is just playing hard to get.

Congrats on Alberto, sounds like it is going well. It take take a few days for bonding to fully take place, but to avoid fireworks at the introduction phase as you have done is a great sign. Take a little time to have a reads of this it gives great insight into bonding Bonding: Illustrated Dominance Behaviours And Dynamics

Give them time - Valentina is not in season and is making it absolutely clear that she is the queen. My poor (excited) Gareth had to live with his paws between his legs and any cheekiness was strictly forbidden for several days until the end of the dominance phase, but he was accepted in.
