just lost my old lady Purdey

its not fair is it, but this time i knew she was getting old she was a family pet before a breeder I knew took her and her mate Pongo on she was heavily pregnant pongo was dad, (we named them) he was going to leave them out for the foxes in an upturned wire basket :tickedoff:. but i took her and him on and got 5 wonderful babies a few days later, only biscuit my daughters pig is left now, she lived here 4 years so have no real idea how old she was, but she def looked elderly now and i was somehow expecting it same with dobbys mum quincee shes looking a little elderly now, she died in her sleep in her igloo surrounded by most of the herd, at least I feel happy that I changed her life and gave her 4 more years and she gave me 5 wonderful babies but will miss my little ridgeback beauty, she seemed otherwise healthy just old, sweet dreams little lady now with pongo and 4 of your babes, 0:) 0:) 0:) 0:) 0:) 0:) :'( :'( :-*
 
What a sad day for you Michelle. I'm so very sorry for your sad loss.

You gave her a wonderful life - I cant BELIEVE what her fate might have been otherwise (very upset about what I have read)
but lets not dwell on that.

Let's celebrate the long and happy life of Purdey and cheer her on her way up to the Rainbow Bridge where she will be reunited with her little ones and her husband :)
 
aww I'm so sorry for your loss! I agree with what Billies Mum said... you saved her from the foxes and cared for her. She knows you love her :)

R.I.P Purdey... have fun pop-corning with your piggie family up there!

I'm so sorry Michelle. You did a wonderful job rescuing her and her 5 (wow!) babies. She had a wonderful 4 years with you, I'm positive. RIP Purdey :'(

I'm really very sorry for your loss. i'm sure Purdy will make so many friends where her little spirit has gone and be forever looking down on her little pad where she was very happy x
 
so sorry michelle :'( but huge hugs to you, n know in youre heart you gave her a fab life n she will be happy munching the sweetest tasting grass now 0:)
 
RIP Purdey - you sound like a wonderful little girl 0:) Pongo and Purdey can be together forever now on the rainbow bridge :)

thanks every one me and Mick reckon she was about 5 almost 6 , he even said she looks old she is buried unbder the apple tree next to the willow where dobby is, spent ages tonight with carrie anne checking every one over a good old MOT for them all got some wonderful cuddles and snuggles and it seems Floo is not the only possesive pig to his mummy now charlie pulls my clothes though the grids to get my attention cheeky monkey still it made me smile on another difficult sad day, but as you said we had her 4 years more then she would have had if the fox had got her and for that I'm grateful, sweet dreams old girl :smitten: :'(
