Spikes been very quiet lately, he's been eating and drinking and stuff, but he's just been very quiet and not himself. I'm not sure what coudl be wrong. He seems weak and lethargic and a little shaky, I rolled him onto his back to check him over and he just squirmed pathetically, usually he kicked up a fuss and rolls and bites and stuff. His squeaks are also weird, they're sorta strained, I don't know to describe it, sorta like a hamster with a chest infection. Although I don;t think he does have a chest infection, there are no signs or a runny nose, or eyes and no sneezing, he's still eating well, which is a good sign. But he's just very very quiet.

I'm not sure what it could be, and before I book and appoinment at the vets I'd like to have an idea of whats wrong with him. Does anyone have any idea what it could be?

Was there alot of fireworks last night? He might be scared from them. One of my piggie wouldn't let me touch him last night because of them. Best getting him to a vet though.

Yeah it could have been the stress of the fireworks. If no better tomorrow then I'd probably pop him to the vets for a once over - it can't do any harm :)

You know Spike better than anyone, he must seem off for you to be concerned so best get him to the vet. Good luck and hope all is well x

I don't think its fireworks, he used to live out side and so is used to loud noises, I don't think the fireworks would have affected him this much, he just isn't himself at all, so he has appointment at the vets on Tuesday. I hope its nothing serious :(

Spike has perked up a bit, he's almost back to usual self, but I took him to the vets to be on the safe sife. I also noticed that when he was really ill his eyes were quite crusty, not crusted shut, but just crusty around the edges. Well the vet said it it definately wasn't a chest infection because his chest was clear. His eyes were a little weepy so the vet has prescribed Tiacil. Other than that Spike seems to have recovered from whatever it was that he had, so I'm happy about that.

Yesterday I noticed that Chewie had a swollen bum, it was really sore looking so I gave it a clean, in the morning it was fine back and looking normal, I checked this morning and it was swollen again. So I also got the vet to look at that, he wasn't sure what it was, but he presribed hibbiscrub, and told me to come back if it hadn't cleared up within a week.

So yeah both piggies are fine and I'm relieved :)
