Thankfully I’m quite far away from the major fires. There was smoke in the air from fires very far away in Tasmania yesterday

Well.. hasn’t gone as well as I’d hoped

I put Mary and Wilma in a fresh, clean play area to start the bonding. Wilma was instantly defensive, teeth chattering and wiggling at Mary, Mary kept running away but Wilma became a bit more intense causing Mary to chatter back. Mary would try and keep calm and non dominant (I think) for a while and tiptoe around Wilma so she could eat some hay but Wilma chased Mary and they had a rolling fight Both are fine, just little tufts of hair pulled out.

I don’t think they’re going to get on, I’ve put Mary back with her herd and Wilma is now Chilling out on her own.
I’m so disappointed.
