Pets at home again! I couldn't believe it! Loads of them all climbing over each other! The pen must be 2x3 metres?

How can they get away with it?

We got our babies, I mean piggies from pets at home, they had a reasonable sized cage though and there were only the two of them together in there, we just had to get them, fell in love with them pretty much straight away x

Admittedly some stores do this, but at a young age, the space thing isn't as vital to have perfect, my piggies came from a store where 4 boars where in a 100cm cage, it was big enough for them as they were so small and they were happy and healthy and i think thats the main thing ! (:

They get away with it because people keep shopping there :(

or more because the local council license them, to be allowed to sell animals and feel the conditions they're kept in are adequate. Which is actually all down to the requirements set by the pet care trade association which allow this...

I stand by my point. They get away with it because people keep shopping there. This is a democracy after all.

Thats appaulling! Can you not report them?

A while ago i applied to work there as i love animals and it seemed the perfect place. But I'm glad it didnt workout now. Ours doesnt seem to bad actually the conditions are good for all the animals but some of the staff arent very knowledgeable.

I find where i am in bristol has a bit of a lack on independants so I'm currently relying on poundland wilksons and ebay. Although I'm quickly running out of quality food and may just have to bite the bullet and go there :<

I believe each local council has different requirements for the space required during their sale period. But I have to say it is normally a pitifully small requirement. Pets at home is incredibly generous compared to some places I have seen.
