mine have all been done today, Ivomec and manicures all round, I do mine spring and autumn, all looking fit and well, thank goodness, dobbys now in with Harvey since I lost ginger last week, dobbys not as keen on Harvey as Harvey is with him, and keeps turning his back on him, he was only trying to snuggle in with him like he use to with Ginger, ::) bless him, grumpy dobby! >:(

I'll be honest I don't give Ivomec routinely to my guinea pigs but do bath them regularly with Gorgeous Guineas products. I've had little old Solo here 5 years and he's never had Ivomec in his life and he has a beautiful coat for an oldie.
I prefer a natural approach and won't administer drugs to my animals without (what I consider) to be good reason.

I appreciate the CCT advocate dosing regularly with Ivomec, but sorry...if an animal is healthy and happy, there is no way I'm giving, what is, a powerful drug.

I do give Ivomec as a one off "course" to new arrivals, but that is it.

Not saying this is right for everyone, but for my guineas it is :)

I would normally agree with you and have had some disagreements with worming etc over the years which I dont do as i figure Ivomec pretty much covers it, I've kept pigs for years and touch wood have yet to have any skin problems other then a girl with hormone related alopecia and one that I rescued had mites, but as i rescue unwanted pigs occasionally from the vets etc I have to make sure mine are protected, as stated mine are only done twice a year and on the back of the neck a drop on each keeps them safe and protected,
I also use GG products and all of mine (33)have wonderful soft coats, so no disagreements there with GG products, but also agree each to their own what works for one does'nt work for anothers,
I did get hell for not worming my pigs but stuck to my guns and still have'nt used panacur etc and cant see me changing my mind but if others use it then I am 100% fine with it, we all know our own pigs and know whats right and wrong with treating them, I have had pigs that have lived to 8 and 7 never having skin problems so figure must be doing ok for them. :D
