I don't know if I've put this in the right place but anyway I just want to say thank you to this forum and all members. You have helped me so much with my Guinea pigs it's unreal. There have been afew times when I have really been so upset to the point I have been physically sick and stopped eating and sleeping because I have been so worried about my Guinea pigs when they have been ill. The advice from this forum and its members is priceless to me I couldn't have got through it without all your input and advice. I don't know what I would have done without this forum and all your knowledge about Guinea pigs. And you are all so lovely and understanding I am so glad I found this forum. I just wish I'd have come on here when my beloved fudge was ill but I was in too much of a state and was not thinking right at the time so rushed him to the emergency vets where he died of bloat which the emergency vets said heart attack! If I'd have come here I know you all would have helped me save his life but now I know what I'm looking for I will know what to do if it happens again. My Guinea pigs, Frankie, Freddie, Florence, Francis and Peaches all say thank you too because you are all amazing and I'm sure you've helped many more Guinea pigs and owners so thank you again
Bloat is very nasty and even giving all the correct meds in the world (which my Bea had) doesn't mean that a guinea can still be saved - it can strike hard and fast and can often be the end result of another underlying problem that both we and vets can be unaware of because guineas hide their illnesses.
That's so kind of you to say @Stayc1989. I'm hugely proud to be a part of a forum where people are so supportive of each other in times of need. This forum is a very special place thanks to all its members who give their time &experience so freely.
I get really ill when I think there's something wrong with my Guinea pigs and find it a real comfort coming here as like you said @VickiA everyone is very supportive in times of need. It's really nice that people understand how you feel instead of people thinking "it's just a Guinea pig" because to me they are not "just Guinea pigs" they are part of my family who I love deeply. My family and boyfriend are amazing too and also love the Guinea pigs dearly but obviously they don't have the knowledge of Guinea pigs like members on here do so I find it puts my mind at rest coming here and asking for help as I know I will only receive the best advice
