Amysmom
Teenage Guinea Pig
That awful thread was removed I gather?
No moderator has let me know and I think they should if they are removing a thread started by you.
I also wanted to say that I still think that although some people understandably want the best for Piggys sometimes information they give for that situation is a little over the top.
Our vet Rosie who as some will know here is a cavy savy vet, she knew Peter Guerney for years and had many Piggys of her own. She was surprised we hadn't bonded our new edition with the girls and said there's no reason why we can't do so. I think people who run rescues and have many Piggys need to remember that some people here don't so therefore 'the book' information doesn't apply to them in the same way. To suggest that I should be wearing plastic aprons and gloves and disinfecting etc I think and my vet would think was a little too much.
I know there will be many opinions on what I've said and everyone is entitled to it but this is mine. I won't be making any comments on any replies because I don't want to become involved in any debates again.
The important thing is that our Piggys are very well cared for (spoilt in fact) and any problems that arise regarding their health is always dealt with.
