Just been to a pet supplies warehouse with son and spotted these feed blocks for horses. Just wondered whether they are suitable for guinea pigs as they look very similar to the excel alfalfa blocks I buy.

Simple- compressed forage in a 1kg block.

Natural boredom breaker and feed all rolled into one feed block. Fi-block is made by compressing forage that is full of fibre and goodness into a compact block, no added sugars, molasses or additives, simply natural forage.

What does everyone think.

I would check on calcium content. The list of contents only adds up to 58% so what is in the other 42%. Maybe worth checking with the manufacturers.

Oxbow sells good quality alfalfa hay. The recommendation is that it shouldn't be given to adult guinea pigs, unless it's an expectant sow. Apparently, alfalfa makes them gain weight and it's very high in calcium, promoting kidney and bladder stones. Just curious, why would you like to feed alfalfa to your piggy?

I give the burgess excel blocks as treats not as a food and saw these which were very cheap and was curious as look very similar to the burgess excel.

The burgess excel do not have alfalfa, just looked the same. My mistake but now I know which is what this forum is all about. Thanks.
