Fed Freddie some Kale, and he loved it, for a couple of days. But now he won't look at it. Thought Kale was okay for piggies, but now not so sure. Did it make him feel sick? Or is it just he prefers his old favs of Cucumber and Carrots. He seemed to "go off" it very quickly. Anxious. Is Kale too strong?
 
mine eat kale too and they enjoy it :D i think kale is safe for guineapigs :D
 
From everything I've read, kale is fine for occasional feeding but shouldn't be fed every day. It is extremely high in calcium, which is a necessary nutrient but too much can cause health issues like bladder stones. There is a good thread here covering guinea pig dietary needs and which foods are safe and which should only be fed occasionally.
 
Guinea pigs can be quirky with their likes and dislikes.
Apart from not feeding kale every day it’s highly likely that Freddie has decided that while it was his favourite food yesterday, today it is definitely not.
Most piggies seem to be like this - some food they will always love or hate, other foods, well it really depends on what day it is.
Is this the day they like it or the day they don’t?
 
Our boys love it! However, I do keep the quantities down due to the calcium content ;)

Haha mine do that too if you insist on giving them the same thing several days in a row. They have done it with Brussels and green beans before

Try to change his veggie menu daily, but sometimes it happens he gets the same meal two days on the trot. Right now, leaves of Romaine lettuce seem to be nudging ahead in the Favs stakes! Funny wee fella. ♡

I change mine as much as I can but if we have veggies in that the humans don't like (like brussel sprouts) then they have them more regularly until the bag runs out and then I will not buy them again for quite a while. They tend to go the same if I buy a bag of fine beans :))
