Hi
One of my piggies (Daisy) sadly died at the weekend, leaving her sister (Dolly) alone. Now of course I’m aware that piggies shouldn’t be left alone however how long is too long?
I have reserved a baby piggy off a friend who won’t be ready for another 3 weeks - will Dolly be ok on her own until then? She seems ok at the moment, not out of character or anything but she’s only been alone for 4 days. I’m worried 3 weeks is too long?

Its very good that you are already planning a friend for your lone piggy so soon after your loss. I don't think 3 weeks is too long, many piggies spend 3 weeks or even 6 weeks or longer alone in quarantine or post-neutering or when they are ill. Extra cuddles and snacks should help you both through your bereavement while you wait for her new friend. Best of luck bonding your girl with her new friend, I hope its a success!

It can take time to find a suitable companion after a bereavement.
Dolly should be fine, just keep an eye on her.
When my Merab was left alone it took me a few weeks to find her suitable companions, she was quiet and subdued but otherwise fine.
She perked up when the newbies arrived.

It really depends on the piggy. Some pigs can go into acute grieving which can stop them eating and put them at risk. So long as she continues to eat, drink and poop then she should be fine
