Hi all,

Havnt been on here in agesss!
Well Honey has lost quite a lot of hair from her Ovary Cysts, so I'm thinking what can i keep her warm with in the winter.

I'm not quite sure where her and Chloe (my new pig) is going, I think Mums planning to build them their own shed/shelter. I have however got C&C grids and just brought an indoor cage off ebay for £7.50. I really dont have any room in the house for them :S

In their hutch they have newspaper, lots of hay, and a fleece which they crawl in and sleep in :)

Mum just suggested making Honey a jumper, but I'm totally against this, and cant see it working.

Thanks

Katie, Honey + Chloe
xx

i went to pets at home and bought a fluffy tunnel for the winter and because my piggies abit ill at the moment.i put hay in the enterance for her to eat and some of that kinda paper bedding at the back to stop drafts and shes seemed fine.
Theres nothing you can really do they should be able to cope with the weather depending on how old they are plus there in a shed so know drafts or anything..

good luck

I'm not sure she`d like a jumper but why dont you put lots of hay in a corner for her to snuggle under, you can also get animal hot water bottles (obviously not hot water but you knoe what i mean) get her a snuggle tunnel or house so she could go in to keep warm

Leave well alone, you have already done enough to keep her warm.
It is more of a problem with a single pig, the perfect heat source is another pig!

It's worth investing in a Snugglesafe heatpad, just to have to hand. You can microwave these for around 6 minutes and they keep comfortably warm to 10 hours, so if you are due a particularly cold night you could pop one of these in the hutch.
