I've had my foster piggies since Monday, they are outdoors in a hutch.. How can I make sure they are warm enough ? I'm worried they are cold out there :(
I have the c&c grids, what if I seperated down the middle and my pair and foster piggies have half each? Its not a huge amount of room but at least they'll be warm..

I would keep them as they are just stuff the hay to the rafters! Also perhaps it may be worth investing in the microwaveable hot water bottles, they keep warm for quite some time.

Perhaps you could look at the position of the hutch and putting tarpulin covers over. Also could provide them with fleece/vet bed inside their sleeping quarters etc. Cardboard boxes for extra insulation are good too.

I'm lucky my fosters are in my shed, I've shut down my outdoor hutches now which means I have fewer spaces of course but I feel happier they are inside. Any chance of getting a cheap shed to pop them in?

I am keeping mine outside at the moment (well in the garage) and I have put loads and loads of hay in there, plus I have taken 90 percent of their wooden houses out and replaced them with sleepsacks, cuddlecups, and fleecehouses. Of course you have to make sure they are dry - so replace the towels or old fleece jumpers you line them with regularly - because even a wooden house without hay is better than a wet fleece when the temperatures drop.

Also make sure that there is no draft - wondered for the first two days why the piggies wouldnt come out of their hutch into the attached run, until I covered one side with a big piece of cardboard. All of a sudden they came out, there was probably some cold wind coming in and I didnt realise...

Would a fleece jumper do in there for them or do I need to line something with it? If so, what? Would they share a jumper cos at the mo I've a feeling they like their own space
