Sorry if this has already been posted or if this is the wrong thread, just seeking advice

Obviously the temperature is dropping now. My boys have plenty of bedding hay in their beds and we have the heating come on one hour during the night and once hour during the day while we're out (it's on all time while we're in) to ensure the house doesn't get too cold but, is there anything else we can/should be doing to ensure my piggies don't get too cold?

They seem fine, maybe in their beds a bit more, but I'd hate it to drop to an uncomfortable temperature for them I just wondered if any piggy owners knew any tips or tricks, aswell as having heating come on, to keep piggies warm? :)

depending on the size of your house, you could leave the heating on a constant comfortable temperature all the time. sometimes it's cheaper than blasting it higher later on. we have a small house though which gets very cold so we have to really. it's on a constant from about september to march/april usually and isn't that expensive surprisingly :)

if that's not an option then loads of hay and snugglesafe heatpads. hayexperts do another type called hotties which is good aswell. ancol do thermal pet mats aswell with a fleece cover. our rabbit bisc has them for his spondylosis and they work really well :)

thats an interesting point. we have it odf mostly and keep setting it on high every now and again or with the timer, i suppose lowering the temp and leaving it on may actually work out more economical?

ive ordered a couple of those snugglepads too to give them a try and we've increased their bedding hay, The issue we have is the whole downstairs of our house (livingroom/dining room/kitchen) is one bit room with laminate flooring so hard to heat/stay warm. I might try that though thanks :)

it's meant to be more economical. our house is the same - downstairs is one 'big' room so hard to keep warm. all the heat tends to go up the spiral staircase which is annoying. so upstairs is way too hot just to keep downstairs comfortable  the piggies are on the floor downstairs aswell which is alot colder, plus our rabbit has spondylosis and also lives downstairs, so it's vital we have it warm enough really. the only plus side of having such a small house i suppose is that we can have the heating on 24/7 and it doesn't cost that much :)

ours is exactly the same! thanks for the tip - worth a try! i dont mind spending a bit more to make sure my boys are ok! They are totally worth it!

Thanks for the advice :)
