These guys are so cute, I'm fostering for Sophie and they currently live indoors (my sons bedroom at the moment!)

They are so scared and duck for cover as soon as they here us come into the room although my eight year old crawls in on all fours to speak to them :))

Once we are in the room and quiet they will come out and we can talk around them, so thats progress I think! They also seem to like my son singing Mamma Mia songs ......... or so he tells me!

They also go in the run in the garden and I'm sure they've had a little popcorn! The other day as I walked upstairs to feed them Keith was being very vocal (not the usual high pitch wheek when you pick him up), I think he was chatting away!

We will keep trying! :)):)):))

Sometimes it takes a long time and dedication to bring them out - but you seem to be getting there! Would it help if you tried a radio?

They are obviously afraid of their previous owner coming to mishandle them; it takes time to go against now instinctive behaviour and - virtually - retrain them. I have always made it a point to talk even before I came into the room, so Llewelyn could make his instinctive dash without a panic attack.

All the best for the poor boys - learning to be a carefree, happy piggie is not always easy! You're doing a sterling job!

I start talking to them as I go up the stairs but its not until they see you that they dart for cover and Keith just squeals when you try and pick him up but once up he likes a cuddle, and Kevin, well, I can turn him over and rub his tum :)):))

Awww that's great :) I'm sure they will get better every day bless them.
I know with one of my piggies Peggy after having her since Nov last year she is such a different piggy, although she will always be timid and sometimes her little eyes look very scared :( God only knows what some piggies go through or remember about their past. We can only hope in time things get easier on the little sweethearts with lots of love and cuddles x

It so good that they like the cuddles and the love; they'll get over the being picked up part eventually. Could you gently shoo him into and then lift him out in a chube or an upturned pigloo with a little treat in? It's mainly the feel of your hand closing in that the shy ones seem to be afraid of.

I prefer do it with Nia and her razor sharp claws - it's saved me a lot of scratches and her some serious wiggling and blind jumping from dangerous heights. She's about as bad as they come in that respect.

Yeah I have purchased a chube for their cage and even in that he squeals, he even squeals if Kevin runs into the house while he is in there .... its like he thinks he's going to get hurt, bless him but they are getting better :))

He'll take some time to realise that nothing bad is going to happen to him. Poor Kyle must have had a pretty traumatic experience, though...

I wish you all the best!
