@madguinealady its really rather unusual I think that you are able to admit that you had a hoarding problem. You must be such an amazing and strong person to come through this. Did you do it all on your own, or with something like CBT counselling? I ask because we have a family member who suffers from hoarding (not animals) and I'm getting worried. How did you alter your thinking?

@AbiS - I have even worse guilt over a rabbit that I had as a teenager, called Star. She was a white rabbit with pink eyes, and she was kept alone with a hutch inside my pony's stable block, she had the run of a spare 8 foot by 12 foot stable but no outdoor run that was actually big enough for a rabbit. I feel so guilty that she lived alone, at the time I thought I was being very nice giving her a stable to play in and a goat to talk to in the next door pen. I had never heard of house rabbits back then in the late 80s/early 90s.

It's so hard to try and forget all of the ads that you come across :( just have to try and hope there are plenty of other people who treat their pets like we do on this forum. Everyone tells me my piggies and cat are spoilt but I don't see why they should be treated any differently - they're family!

I met someone at the weekend who told me she had a blind guinea pig she needed to rehome and that she was inundated with offers of excellent homes for him.

Goth mummy i did it on my own.Watched stuff on tv about it and realised what i was doing. Also have the contacts i trust to pass stuff on
and realised I'm not the only one that can help animals.Have also been on here and asked for help if i feel myself slipping backwards.Realised i wasn't doing the animals any favours.
