Noticed yesterday that she had a lump, shes as normal as ever eating tonnes & drinking normal, and as active as a large lazy pig is:))

Its sort of her on the back of thigh, its just on a fleshy bit of skin.

have seen a few posts on this but theres seem to be bigger lumps...

Any advice

8...Dreading hearing its something bad. Shes my special piggy ! She survived ALOT that the owners did to her (Her cage mate died when there plastic tank-like indoor cage was put in the window during the really hot summer, forgot to feed her, their dachshund got in her hutch several times a day trying to get her, and 3 grabbing kids annoying her!) To add to that the :x cage the man made was falling apart with broken chicken wire ... seen as the lived in the countryside and she wasnt covered at night anything could have eaten her!

Lucky pig.

It is possibly a sebaceous cyst.
Can you describe it more accurately, please?
Size, site, is it a hard/soft lump, can you move it around under the skin, any other lumps etc?

Thankyou.

Size of a pea, quite firm but not hard, under the skin between behind the back of her thigh and her grease gland.

Have just searched what you said, and found this link

http://www.oginet.com/pgurney/cysts.htm

It says if it is what you described then i can treat it it at home with the correct items, no anaesthesia required :{

I would strongly advise that you do not attempt to treat the lump yourself, unless you already have the knowledge/training/experience to do so safely.
The knowledge of what can go wrong and how to deal with any problems is more essential than knowing the basic treatment.

Oh ok , thankyou for that :))

What would you advise that i do next ?

Monitor it for the next few days and see what happens ? Or take her to the vets asap ?

If it is a cyst, you can leave it - just keep an eye on it. It may need lancing at some future date but if it's not doing anything itself at the moment, you should be just fine to only monitor it.

I would adopt a watch and wait policy.
I used to remove all sebaceous cysts but now I only remove them if there is a definite reason. One of my boars has a cyst about 2.5cm in diameter, it is not bothering him so I leave well alone.
