For about 6 months now we haven't had a single vet trip with the piggies but I go and buy a cat carrier for Miffy and the girls it gets put into use within days rolleyes Mum took Holly out last night and she was looking at her eye and there a deep cut in it and it's al cloudy. It looks like it could have been the water bottle that has dug in but it doesn't look good. She's still eating, popcorning, talking to Molly so I'm guessing she can't be in much pain if any because those 2 scream just being picked up:)). Got vets at 11:15 so will be taking 2 piggies and a dog with us for the 1 piggie. Hopefully it's nothing too serious but she doesn't seem to be reacting to light or anything going near her eye. If she needs surgery they will probely have to wait to Monday now.

Well since she doesn't seem to be in any pain it doesn't sound serious but definitely needs a trip to the vet just to make sure. I hope she gets better soon! xx>>>

It's more than likely been cause by a piece of hay. It's quite common so don't worry too much. The eye has clouded over because this what normally happens and your piggie's body is trying to repair it. You will probably get some eye drops from the vet.

She's got eye drops and has to go back on Thursday with Miffy when she's going to get her injection. Buttons had the same thing last year and he needed 3 lots of surgery because it kept coming back. It's a cut and an ulcer she's got it looks nasty but the drops should hopefully clear it up soon. Vet was doing everything to try and keep the pair of them because she loves long haired piggies :))

fingers crossed it heals it with the drops :)

hope the drops will sort her eye :)

Just thought I would update to say it really likely she's going to loose the eye. Only other option is for her to go under anethetic and get serum taken out her blood then made into a drop for her eye but they will only get about 1 bottle out of her and it wouldn't be enough. I was away at Edinburgh today so mum had to take her to vets and they gave her metacam, anti inflamitry and antibiotic. She's got more meds to take until Friday then she's going back to see how it is and what op would be best to do. Hopefully a miricale will happen and it'll suddenly heal but it just keeps getting wrose.

Oh darling, the poor piggy and poor you! i'll be praying for you crxxxx

Oh how terrible..poor little love, that must be so sore. I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for her xx

She's squealing in pain even more now getting drops in and it cleaned. Miffy has the vets tonight for injection so not sure if should take Holly aswell but there would be nothing they could do because it's at 7pm.. If she has surgery tomorrow I'm worried incase something went wrong over weekend and the vets were shut and we would have to go to PDSA and I'm not too keen on them now for small animals. Her eye looks worse again she just keeps shutting it over. Apart from that she's fine.. Popcorning, squeaking when it's time for food, stealing Molly's food, wanting the igloo if Molly is in it. Basically being a normal greedy piggie :))
