hello, i have a four year of guinea pig and her breathing is getting really weird, it sounds as if she’s having troubles breathing. not to mention their is black crust on the inside of her nose, she still eats and drinks as if there is no tomorrow, any suggestions? also i can’t go to the vet because the closest small animal vet is over 2 hours away..image.webpimage.webp

If she is having trouble breathing then she needs a vet for diagnosis and treatment. I know it’s hard when the vet is a long way away, but it’s not something you can leave unchecked and untreated

If her breathing is laboured then there is going to be nothing you can do without seeing a vet. If it's the start of a URI for example then you will need antibiotics which can only be prescribed by a vet. Are there any general vets closer to you that will see her? My thinking is that, although a cavy savvy vet is the best idea, any vet is better than no vet

do you have a general idea of what this could be? and what the black scabs are inside her nose?

We aren’t vets so we can’t diagnose anything. Only a vet giving her a hands on check and listening to her chest will be able to identify why she can’t breathe properly
