Lack Of Grass

Hi, does anyone rest their grass areas during the summer? I find that with 5 guineas our grassy areas get quite washed out after a few weeks. I know pigglies should have access to runs for at least four hours daily but wondered if it would be harmful for them to go into hutches for a couple of weeks to rest the grass. Does anyone have similar problems in the spring/summer months or any other ideas?

Guinea pigs need floor time but it does not have to be on grass. I have no garden so my lot never have grass. If you are going to give floor time without grass then that is fine.

My pigs have never had grass. I think its ok as u can do floor time elsewhere
