Please can some one help, after having many questions about play and cuddles we have finally got the hutch and play area sorted and now it would seem that Crumpy and Lenko aren't a big fan of water. They enjoy lots of cucumber and water melon and they are kept indoors, people say at work that because they have the water from the cucumber and melon and aren't outside that they will be ok. There is a water bottle attached to the cage and when they are on the floor I have tried a small bowl of water (Lenko pop corns and some times lands in the bowl). They are happy and seem to play and run around and don't appear to be under the weather so are we panicking for no reason.
We are new parents to these chaps and have had them for 4 weeks and so learning as we go along.

As long as they are getting plenty of fresh food they may not drink much water, One of my pigs never touched the water bottle and he lived to 5.5 years.

As long as water is always available to them then I wouldn't really worry how much they are drinking to be honest. Different guinea pigs drink different amounts and may drink more one day than another which is probably to do with how much fresh food and veggies they have had. They will be fine so please don't worry.:)

As you are feeding veg high in water such as cucumber and watermelon (great but not many minerals and vitamins in them) they are getting water from those veg... If you have to stop at any point they will use the water bottle...;):)
I have 3 and the water in the bottle hardly gets touched some days... what other food do you feed them? Dark green leaf veg are great for piggies and also peppers etc... there is a food list at the top of the page which is great!

When my piggies are outside in the summer they hardly ever drink water because they have unlimited grass + their veggies but when they are inside and only have the grass I pick for them they drink quite a bit of water. I'm sure ** pigggies are fine and are getting the water from their veg. x

My piggies can sometimes go days with out hardly touching their water and then other times I'm filling their water bottle up constantly. I don't think you have anything to worry about x

Mine go through phases with their water - at the moment they're drinking loads (which means the cage needs changed more often) but sometimes they hardly touch it.

My three pigs barely drink water. When they do we give them more but usually they seem to get it from the veggies...

Don't worry ... if you provide them with fresh water every day and they don't drink it, then they don't need it.

It seems like you are giving them all the moisture that they need from the greens etc that you are feeding them.

Mine hardly drank anything at all when i first got them, now they all drink me out of house and home lol! They just like seeing me having to run back and forth to the shed with water bottle :)) I'm sure theyre getting all they need and they'll probably drink more in time!
