Hi Everyone,

I was fortunate enough to fly to California from Colorado to attend/volunteer the annual fundraiser hosted by the Los Angeles Guinea Pig Rescue. I am a former volunteer and now I just volunteer when I'm in town. Yesterday I helped with adoptions (20 piggies were adopted), introductions, and tours.

This video is just one stall of sows and babies. The cages you see with piggies showed visible signs of pregnancy while the piggies on the floor are on pregnancy watch. The sheer number was overwhelming. I asked where all the babies were (babies you see were just born) and Saskia said from what the hoarder informed her, the rats would get the newborns on the daily basis. Her priority was to separate the females and take them back first so they can't continue to breed plus there wasn't enough room in the transport. Some had ringworms which she has quarantined in a different stall in C&C cages, some need medical treatment, etc.... they are asking for donations...

I added a link to their website, there is a paypal button where you can directly donate.

They will be taking another trip to Northern California to rescue the boys. I will be flying again to Los Angeles in 2 months to help and adopt.

I've been watching this on facebook, wish I could help in some way other than donations. At least the piggies are in safe hands now.

The hoarder didn't feed the babies to the rats, the wild rats came in and stole them for food
