Cowboy is being treated for both fungus with Lamisil and mites with Selamectin. The vet was not sure what he has going on so we treat for both.
My concern is after putting Lamicil on his back legs and butt area I distracted him for 10-15 minutes then he is licking and biting the Lamisil. Is that stuff toxic for him? Should I wipe off after 10 minutes? Is there a gentle shampoo instead?
Poor guy, he is uncomfortable with and without the cream.

Anti fungal drugs are very potent so it is not a good idea for your piggy to be ingesting the cream. Was it prescribed by your vet? I would check with them about the toxicity. The most effective form of treatment for mites is ivomectin by injection, administered by a vet. Also antifungal and anti mite treatments should not be given on the same day.

Has that hip been properly examined? It looks like the hair has been shorn down over it, which would usually indicate pain to me. How old is he? Did the vet examine for injury/arthritis? And has he got any pain relief?
And I agree with @Pound Shilling & Pig you wouldn’t usually treat for mites and fungal at the same time.
Please speak to your vet or find another one who is perhaps more cavy savvy?

Thank you. She did not mention injury. In that picture, the hair is 'wet' from the cream I put on there. He is about 3 years old. I will email the vet and tell her since Saturday I have not noticed any improvement in his biting the area. I would have expected a fungus would have improved by now.
Thank you for the input.
