My little piggies are 10 weeks and i got them on Friday, they've had a bit of a yucky start with suspected ring worm but we are on the case and hoping to get it sorted. I catch them in a tube, i feel this is better less stress for both of us, they feel so tiny i don't want to squish or hurt them. I bring them both out at the same time for lap time. First i sit with the towel over them for a minute or two just to let them calm then i start to pet them really gently from nose to bum and from their little cheek over their sides. They seem very calm, no shuddering and their ears have started to stay up instead of back. I have introduced a little snack in to our time and they have taken it twice now (proud moment!) So far the longest they have sat is 40minutes and they have seemed comfortable.
There is no purr, its more a low squeak sometimes its a croaky sounding squeak, they also make this sound in their cage..they've never made a purring sound yet. I just wondered if this squeak means they are comfortable? They soon tell me when its time to go back in to their cage as they get restless :)

Its been so long since i had a baby piggy i just want to make sure I'm not frightening them and they are comfortable..trying to be patient! :)

It certainly does sound like you are doing it right. The key is time. Just keep doing what you are doing, nice and slowly and gently. They will come around :) P.S They are gorgeous!
