So far I haven't held my piggies yet, I'm looking for some advice for what to do I was thinking to giving some treats while I have them on my lap? I'm desperate for a cuddle but I don't want to set our progress back x

How long have you had them?
 
This is a good way to pick your piggies up, takes the stress out chasing them around and will help for a more settled lap time

 
It is best to start laptime of for a short time at first then build the time up. We started with feeding a sprig or two of coriander so they associate lap time with good things
 
I've only had them since sunday so not long thank you I might wait till tomorrow as I don't want to upset them

how are they interacting with you in the cage? Have you tried hand feeding?
 
Yea they are taking some food out my hand and they come over when I go to cadge
 
Yea I dont want to rush things so not to loose any trust I'm building with them
 
It does take patience and bribery BUT when you do have that bond it's the best feeling in the world , photo of our today's lap time

Thank you for this tip. We tried it tonight and it was SO much easier and less stressful for the piggies. We just got our piggies on Friday so just learning how to handle them.

Cool :) Glad it helped. Wish we'd have known it with our first pigs. Putt the pig on the right in my avatar used to run like crazy when we tried to pick her up, luckily we foundt he tube trick two years in
 
Thanks for everyone's advice! Its very much appreciated as I've never owned a pig before! They are quite clever and I am already being associated with food every time I enter the room they come right up to the cage door lol!

MJG I nearly feinted with delight when I saw your piggie all relaxed and comfortable. Soooooooooo cuuuuute.
