Lap Time

So cute. Mine have never really stayed still for long in my lap. Sometimes we can stretch to 5 minutes before they want down to play.
They like being stroked in the cage or on the floor when I sit with them.
 
Jingle Mistletoe and Caramel are not keen on lap time. I have yet to test the new comers ... I would love a guinea pig who wanted lap time.
 
Both of my girls love lap time now, they will sit happily for an hour each in the evening, stretching out and snoozing! They didn't sit very long when they were really little but we have been having laptime at least twice a day from first getting them and they now seem really happy with it, they are 8 months old now,
 
It really depends on the piggies I think.
We have a couple that love it and will happily settle for ages (on the right person).
Ruby actually squeaks indignantly if she thinks DD1 is getting up to put her back in the cage and she isn't done being held quite yet!
But Oreo on the other hand isn't a fan of being held for much more than a minute or two.

The advantages of lap time would be regular hands on checking of their overall health and condition.
Plus it is less stressful when you really need to handle them for something essential.
 
I’ve had my piggies for about 6 weeks now (it feels ages but I guess not) and they mostly liked to explore when I first got them out for laptime, which almost ended really badly because Winifred started running away and she’s so fast, we would never have caught her again! Now she just snoozes in my arm like I’m holding a baby XD And Alp likes to put her front feet on my arm and and her back legs on my lap, looking over my arm!
