Hi,
Why can't I attach photos? Anyone know?

Just found a large lump to the left of his tummy near his bum. Don't think it's impaction from what I've read but wouldn't really know. Have a good photo but not allowed to post :-/
Will get him to vet tomorrow but would really have liked some advice before then :(

You won't be able to attach photos because you don't have enough posts yet. What you can probably do is upload it to tinypic and then put the URL here.

Really new members can't post photo's? If you upload to photobucket and then paste the IMG code here - that will show the picture.

Think you may be thinking of the PM's - I posted pics when I first joined. Used tinypic as you said until my daughter showed me how to master photobucket mallethead

Thanks everyone for your help. As you can see his whole back end has swollen up, but the left hand side is loads bigger than the right although it's not so easy to tell in the photo

I would be happy to be agree if I hadn't previously marvelled at the ridiculous proportions of him and his brother! They are both fairly equally endowed, yet here is a picture of his brother taken at the same time (also, the left side is SO much more swollen than the right)

He's about 9 mths btw and has awful uti/grit/crystal issues

Have you had a look at the guinea lynx site? There are loads of boys bits pictures there. I would think one of your boys is just more mature than the other hence the bigger man bits. Obviously if you are concerned then see the vet and clarify :)

If your concerned then see a vet yeah. But when its warmer boys balls can drop down more to keep them cool and yeah they can both mature at different rates too. I hope you get this sorted soon.

x.

Ok, thanks. Hope that's all it is. If it was fairly equal I'd not be so worried, but one side seems so much larger than the other. Really appreciate the fast responses and the help re the photos . Thanks

Your welcome. You will find that with all male species one testicle will pretty much always be bigger / smaller than the other. It's perfectly normal :)

how is your guinea pig in himself?

is he eating ok?

in any pain while passing wee or poos?

it does look like testicles but to be on the safe i would get him to the vet and if your worried about testicular cancer i would recommend getting him neutered-BUT ask the vet what he thinks about the swelling first it could be that his balls have dropped more on the one side than the other, he is at that hormonal age anyway now x

Ah really? Sorry, as you can see I'm also a newbie, and most PHP forums seem to ban attachments as well as PMs so I assumed. :red
