Dilly's Piggies
Teenage Guinea Pig
My 4 year old sow Melody has had a lump on her shoulder about the size of a 20p coin for an entire year now, it came up very quickly but has not gotten any bigger. It does not bother her at all, hasn't caused any issues, it feels kind of hard but I can move it around so I know it's not attached to anything. My vet did put a needle in and drew out a small amount of clear fluid and did an in house basic culture, no bacteria was found so they think it's a sebaceous cyst. My vet just told me to keep an eye on it and bring her back if anything changes and they will do surgery to remove it, but for a whole year nothing has changed and it's still not bothering her. So with this, do you think removing it is worth it or should I continue to monitor it? I'm just worried about the risk of anaesthesia.
