After 7 years of owning Guinea pigs the last of my pigs passed away last night. I had no preconceived ideas of what it would be like to have Guinea Pigs as a pet, and I kind of fell into it after I was left to look after them. However, over the years they have brought me a lot of fun, they are such engaging animals and give back what you put it in. Anyone thinking of getting Guineas, they are very sensitive and caring creatures, I do not think many people realise, so please only get them if you've the time and commitment to look after them properly. But if you do and put in the effort in they are very rewarding pets to own. Below is a small piece of my journey from building a cage to caring for baby guineas.

I am still in two minds of whether to get more - sometimes it's just better to get a different pet than try and replace. We will see.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's always difficult when the last link to an era goes. Give yourself some time and space to grieve and one day you may feel that you are ready to welcome more of these gorgeous little creatures into your life.

Iam so sorry to hear you have lost your piggies. They leave a huge hole in our hearts when they leave us.

You can have a tall cage rather than long and wide.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I know you may need some time to get over it. I am just going to say i strongly reccomend rats to you. They are amazing pets to own, they are said to have the intelligence of a 4 year old child
