Late night piggy mischief

Isn't it cute when you hear late night chaos from the piggy room and go see what's happening and you put your head round the door and they all go totally still like " erm... we didnt do anything!" then 20 seconds later they are wheeking and rumbling and chuckling and rattling the water bottle and moving the furniture? :) I am tempted to buy a petcam so I can see what they are really up to... but on second thoughts maybe I dont really want to know!
 
I'm sure mine get up to all sorts when I'm not around! I have started to give them a "treat box". I got the idea from @Watchman I think:hmm:apologies if it was someone else! I have an old box with hay in and I put treats in the hay at various different points. Yesterday it was blueberries, strawberries and grapes (all chopped up small) and today it was cucumber, baby sweetcorn and sugar snap peas. Well it must have been pushed around the run loads by inquisitive piggies. Hay everywhere where they had pulled it out in their excitement trying to find the yummies in the hay! A bit of fun for them. I am constantly trying to find different ways of enrichment for them and this one was free! I wonder what treats will be in the box tomorrow?:hmm:

oh that's lovely. I make mine hay bombs. that's hay and inside I put a treat leaves or other i want now treat. I scrunch and twist the hay very very tight and put it with the pigs. off they go. loonie piggies. xx
 
How can an animal so cute and innocent looking possibly get up to mischief?

Love the idea of a treat box - I must try that when we get back fro holiday.

I loved it when I came home home to Jemimah standing at the bars with her best ‘please feed me, I’m starving, I haven’t been fed for hours’ look.
Her chin was still soaked in red pepper juice which husband had given them.
 
Comet used to rearrange the entire cage when he thought I wasn't looking. I once watched him insist on moving a carrot cottage that was apparently in the way of his zoomies circuit...thing was, Blitzen was trying to sleep in said carrot cottage and was none to impressed at the whole scenario. I'd go to sleep and wake up and it was like there'd been a riot the night before, with carrot cottages upended and tunnels on top of the carrot cottages.

And I'd watch him headbutting Blitzen during his zoomies circuit if poor Blitzen just happened to wander into his path. Poor Blitzen, he really did get the raw end of the deal lol.
